CKY: 'Carver City' Lands On Billboard Chart
May 27, 2009CKY's fourth album, "Carver City", sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 46 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"Carver City" was released on May 19 via Roadrunner Records. Once again produced by the band's guitarist Chad I Ginsburg, the CD was recorded at Studio CIG in the band's home state of Pennsylvania and was mixed by Ginsburg and Phil Nicolo at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
According to singer Deron Miller, "Carver City" carries with it a "dark summer vacation vibe," nostalgic of the band members' childhood trips to the East Coast beaches. "The fabled town of Carver City has a history of bad luck and misfortune, all the while giving the impression that it's a pleasant family getaway. Much like CKY's town of Hellview, Carver City's events are depicted in the songs, with story lines coming from real-life events."
"A#1 Roller Rager", the new video from CKY, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by drummer Jess Margera's brother, MTV personality Bam Margera.
CKY will embark on a full U.S. tour this summer. The band will play a run of dates in Canada from June 14 through June 28 and will then descend upon the lower 48 on June 29 in Seattle, Washington. The band will head to Europe for a handful of dates, including the Nass Festival in England, before returning to resume this domestic tour.
CKY, known for having disciple-like fans who would follow the band into the depths of hell, will criss-cross the country, with the tour ending in their native region of Philadelphia on August 15. Support on the trek will come from ASG and GRAVEYARD.
